Israel Entry Requirements for Emirati Citizens

Apply Now

Emirati travelers planning a trip to Israel must understand the current rules and entry processes.

While UAE passport holders do not need a traditional visa for short visits, you must comply with all entry requirements. Incorrect information or missing documents can delay your trip.

Read on to discover all the requirements UAE citizens must meet to travel to Israel.

Do Emiratis Need a Visa to Enter Israel?

Since October 10, 2021, UAE citizens benefit from a mutual visa exemption agreement with Israel. This allows Emirati passport holders to travel to Israel for up to 90 days without a traditional visa, provided the purpose is:

  • Tourism
  • Business meetings
  • Short-term visits

If you're planning to work, study, or stay longer than 90 days, you’ll need a specific Israeli visa issued by the embassy. These are not covered by the ETA-IL.

That said, the introduction of the ETA-IL (Electronic Travel Authorization for Israel) changes how you enter the country. You must get this approval before boarding your flight.

What Is the ETA-IL?

The ETA-IL is a new entry system being rolled out for citizens of visa-exempt countries.

Emirati travelers are now required to obtain an ETA-IL before arriving in Israel. The ETA confirms your eligibility to enter and is linked electronically to your passport.

The ETA is valid for up to two years, or until your passport expires. Each stay can be up to 90 days per visit.

With Travel Israel ETA, your form is double-checked by experts, and you get access to 24/7 support, optional protection against travel disruptions, and an easy application process.

Israeli ETA-IL Requirements for UAE Citizens

To qualify for an ETA-IL as an Emirati, you must:

  • Hold a valid UAE passport with at least six months' validity from your arrival date.
  • Not plan to work or stay longer than 90 days.

Once you meet the above ETA-IL requirements for Emiratis, you can travel to Israel with peace of mind.

Documents Needed for the Israel ETA

To apply for the Israel ETA for Emiratis, have the following ready:

  • A valid Emirati passport
  • A recent passport-style photo (optional but may be requested)
  • A valid email address (to receive confirmation)
  • A debit or credit card for payment

These are the basic documents for traveling to Israel as a tourist.

At Travel Israel ETA, we check your documents before submitting. If anything is missing or any details are incorrect, we’ll notify you immediately.

We also offer optional extra fee protection, which gives you full reimbursement of the government ETA fee if you cannot travel due to illness, flight cancellation, or other exceptional circumstances.

Travel Purposes With ETA-IL

The ETA-IL for Emiratis allows you to:

  • Visit Israel for tourism
  • Attend short business meetings or conferences
  • Visit family and friends
  • Participate in short-term cultural or educational programs (non-degree)

If your purpose falls outside these categories (such as employment or full-time study), you will need to apply for a different visa type through the embassy.

ETA-IL Application for Emirati Citizens

You can apply for the ETA-IL entirely online. It takes only a few minutes to fill out the form and pay the processing fee.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Fill in the application form with your personal and passport details.
  2. Choose to add the optional extra fee protection if you want travel coverage.
  3. Submit the form and receive confirmation by email.
  4. Once approved, your ETA is automatically linked to your passport.

Apply for ETA

Most applications are processed within 48 hours, though delays can occur if information is incomplete.

By applying with Travel Israel ETA, you get access to 24/7 customer support and regular application updates via email.

You can also contact us with any questions you have throughout the application process.

Embassies

Although the ETA-IL removes the need to visit an embassy for short visits, it’s still helpful to know where your diplomatic offices are located in case of emergencies, or if you’re having any kind of visa issue.
